I was thinking of getting a couple of clown loaches that are about 3" big. I was wondering if they would be fine on my current stock(my sig) of mbuna's. My cichlids are still pretty small right now, I was wonderin if they would actually harass any fish that's bigger than them...what do you guys think????

Hi there! I just bought a used 75 gallon tank that was set up with several fish already. There was two clown loaches about 3-4 inches long. I set the tank up and then decided to have a cichlid tank. My clown loaches are doing just fine and havent had any problem's with the cichlid's. You the the typical--if any fish gets close to another rock that one;s at the will chase them off but just cichlid play. They've been together for two week's now and no problem. The loaches are fun to watch.

My tank consist of:
2 yellow lab's
1 jewel
1 purple peacock
1 electric blue
1 zebra
2 flowerhorn's

All fish are juvenile's--hopes this help's??

at the risk of sounding like a total n00b, put a few good pics of clown loaches in here so i can see what they look like :p

I know these aren't quite what you have but at the moment i keep tow red finned and one large yellow fin loach with my Yellow heads and alunacaras. I've kept clowns before and they are a lot more sociable than these loaches, however i am inclined to tell you that clown loaches do thrive in an acidic pH of about 6.5 so dont expect them to grow and colour up as fast...................

Thanks guys :D I went to my LFS yesterday to pick them up, but instead i ended up buying a green spotted plec. The reason why I didn't get the loaches is because I don't think my tank is big enough to have them and my cichlids might get a little too agressive when they reach maturity..too bad the ones i was going to get where colouring up real nice....Anyways I could always get them anytime since i'm an employee and because they are not for sale(they are from the display tank).
