Clown Loaches + Ich

Hey wilder i got that rekord 60 today for my quarantine tank the people i bought it off also insisted i took the last fish she had alive with it (swordtail) or it was going down the pan (in her words) as it was being kept in a bucket in her kitchen.

The tank was all but empty of water only like 1" left ontop of the gravel and a few gordy ornaments, the swordtail has signs of fin rot and lots of mucas on its fins, more to the point it took me 2 hours to transport it all home (used the inverter in the car to supply oxygen and heating to the container with the swortail in) here's the amazing part:

Once i arrived home i removed all the ornaments and added fresh treated water to what was already in there all went ok until i started rinsing the ornaments off to put away in the shed (not my thing) and a worse for ware German Blue Ram fell out with all its fins in tatters this fish remember has survived being in 1" of unfiltered water for 2 days (this is when she emptied it) and a notorious car journey, i rang the owner right away to be told she once had a pair but they died over 2 month ago "Obviously not", They are both now in the tank WITH FRESH TREATED WATER, FILTRATION, AND OXYGEN I MIGHT ADD and a dose of Myaxin to try and sort them out.

I dont hold up much hope for the poor ram but i can only give it my best shot as it is free swimming and apart from the fin damage seems otherwise ok but obviously all the stress over the last couple of days would have taken its toll..

Bless them poor things.
Finrot can be a secondary infection, when a fish produces more slime it for protection againt things like parasites, and bad water quality, don't put them in your main tank which I probably know you won't.
what colour is the mucas.
What fish are going in the hospital tank as I would add some salt for the stress there been through.

Update:

Took the swordtail to the lfs as it was attacking the already stressed Ram and ive never intended on keeping swordtails so instead of it living on its own i decided the it would be better off there. As for the poor Ram it has already found a place in my wifes heart and is 110% improved compared to the way it was last night.

Its fins are in a right state but it is taking a little live food, ive added a couple plants and a cave to the hospital tank so it can take shelter. I feel sad looking at its plight as it looks very lonely but feel i can save the poor little thing. (I'd love to get another Ram but cant locate one in any nearby stores) and dont feel it would be fair just yet..

Would it be better off with company or will it be ok if and when it recovers fully when placed in the trigon.

Wilder it was a milky mucas with tank debris stuck to it, but all that has dissapeared overnight.

This is also the weirdest shaped Ram ive ever seen, its not fat but the body is very round and flat (discus like) as if its been in a 2" container and growth has been stunted.

He's beautiful well done.
To be honest never kept rams and no nothing about them, go to the right sction of the forum and they will help you with him.
Glad the mucas has gone that a good sign, good water quality will heal him faster
If his fins get worse add a bacterial med, but if there healing thats a good sign.
Good luck.

Update :

The bubble ram now has his fins and never clamps them now, he is also feeding great and his colours including the black bars are now very prominent (so he's out of the woods).

As for the ich (whitespot) Clown loaches have remained clear, BUT after following the protozin treatment to the book i have just discovered my male pearl gourami and a cardinal has one or two minute specs on their fins (at this present time i feel like kicking the living day lights out of the staff at pets at home for being so negligent with their animals).

I did write a letter of complaint to their head office (well my wife did) with a couple photo's attached of 7male beta's in small transit bags (usually the kind our fish come in) lying in one tank for 3 days (this is how they were kept to save on tanks), also many pics of sick community fish in cichlid tanks and failing fish in general (guppy's and a hand full of neons).

I got a reply containing money off vouchers (i have since posted them back with another letter telling them to shove the vouchers up their ass and it would be more of a concearn to them and myself if they got off their desk bound backsides and sort the problem in hand..

Glad the ram made it bless him he beautiful.
Nice to see that you are sticking by your principles and not letting them buy you off.
It sounds like they need some animal welfare officer to visit that shop as it cruelty in my books.
They don't deserve to be keeping the fish never mind selling them onto the public in dreadful condition.
