Hi, had a small outbreak of planarian in my tank :(

Am doing the usual - water changes, massive concentration on hoovering gravel etc etc

One question though.... Do clown loaches eat planarian? I'm guessing they would as they like snails plenty!

Also, how could the planarian have been introduced to the tank?

Anyone got any idea or additional advise?

Many thanks....

I think there are some fish that will eat planaria but I am not sure which ones will. Best way I know to get rid of planaria is lots and lots of water changes and massively reduce the amount being fed. I had them everywhere in my oscar tank after I set it up. It took awhile to reduce the number of them back to normal.

Thanks for your reply...

Have just planted the tank out and done a load of water changes over a week, water is crystal clear now and whilst I can see a few planarian at night, no where near the amount there was.

Have reduced feeding which the fish seem fine with!

Does anyone else know if clown loaches eat them?

Cheers
