Yes, they will eat shrimp.

You just have the one clown loach? How big is your tank? Do you know how big they get, and that they ought to be kept in groups of six +?

Yes a bit sad my clowns have names and you can tell which one is which

It will only be kind if you have a big enough tank to support a good number of them.

Well I have a 50 gallon and I got the one b/c I have a snail problem and I was trying to get rid of my snail problem. What do u think I need to do?

Being brutally honest? Take it back.

You don't have the room in a 50 gallon for a group and it wouldn't be fair to keep one on it's own, plus they can grow (if they're happy, which they won't be on it's own) to over a foot long.

There are many other ways to combat snail problems rather than adding fish and we don't normally recommend getting any fish to solve a problem.

However, if you have room and they're compatible with your other fish, you could think about zebra loach Botia striata. They do need to be kept in groups (all loaches are social) but are great snail eaters and grow to only about four inches, so are a much more sensible snail eater for a tank your size; I kept a group of seven in a 120l for many years.

:/
Well, at least they won't outgrow the tank I guess....I'm afraid skunk loaches are very, very aggressive and not at all suitable for any kind of community tank. sorry :/

and the moral of this thread is.....research, research, research before buying new fish.
