got a 30 gallon tank 2 clown loach 3 mollie 4 tiger barb 4 guppis feed them king british flakes bloodworm and daphnia one a week a small piece of cubumber or shelled peas all ph and ammonia spot on

How many gallons or litres is the tank, plus full stock list of fish, can we take a look at your stats in ammonia,nitrite,nitrate, and ph.
Never kept clown loaches so don't know if it's just normal behaviour, laying to one side can mean a bacterial infection, has the fish become bloated in the tummy area, also what does it look like when the fish goes to the toilet, and what do you feed the fish.

just read your link it says they will sometimes lay on there sides its normal behaviour thx 4 your help

Ok that good then.

AHHHHHHHHHHHh:
Their behaviour is the reason that their common name is "clown". I have 5 of these guys and it is not uncommon to see them in a 'loach pile" like a bunch of football players. The other common trick is racing from end to end of the tank (all 5) and doing several substrate to surface cycles at each end. They are very communal and just plain enjoy each other's company.
Cheers;

Aww reading that makes me miss my loaches :( They're cute little buggers and yea they always lie on their sides. I remember the first time I saw mine doing that I thought the one was dying! I ran for the net and everything, was going to scoop him out before the goldfish started munching on him. I came back and he wasn't there, in fact all 4 were swimming around happily on the other side of the tank. I then proceeded to yell at them never to scare me like that again! Heh they then proceeded to do it several times a day and I swear they waited until I was watching to "play dead." *sigh* such cute fish.

Just thought I'd point out that your tank is overstocked.. Clown loaches will outgrow that tank eventually, and chances are the tiger barbs will nip your guppies and mollies.
