Hello, :(

Well to start with i had very bad nitrIte way past 3.3 and at the same time i had white spot with some fin rot on one angel fish. I did a water change for the nitrIte and now it is 0.1, the angel fish still has fin rot (i started treating it but had to stop as the nitrIte) and as for the white spot it has almost gone but maybe 3 spots in my tank all told.

However my Clown Loach who had the worst white spot out of the two is now very pale and is looking for somewhere to rest and not swimming right at all (i think he is dying :( ) at the moment he is resting on his side on an ornament but will not rest on the floor as he has been on the filter and the heater, but if i go to look at him then he will sometimes swim away or stay there breathing.

What should i do about my loach and what is up with him ????

What's your water stats (ammonia, ph, etc)?

Are you still treating the tank?

Does he eats any food?

Well i have not seen him eat and i dont know about the ammonia, ph as i dont have the money to buy for them as yet :( i always took some water to the fish place :(

Hiya - If your Nitrite is high, get a water changes done asap. 40% ish or a bit more.
Then get a med in. Clown loaches are very susceptable to white spot unfortunately.
I personally would get a water change done, which will remove some anyway. Increase tank temp to say 82-84. Which increase the ichs cycle time.
Also get a White spot medication ASAP. King British WS3 ive had good results with.
Increase aeration in the tank when you put the medication in.
Also read the LABEL ! As with scaleless fish like loaches you only put half dose in sometimes.

Can you give us water stats also ? Ammonia, Nitrite, Nitrate after the change ?

Also - I know its a pipe dream alot of the time, but I bought a UV Steriliser, because my loaches kept getting Ich. Its been running 6 months almost and ive not had a single fish with Ich...only cost £36 off Ebay which to me is well worth it.

Good luck. Post back.

EDIT - Should have also said, if your treating for ich remove carbon filters etc first as they remove the meds.
