Hi i noticed this morning my clown loach has a white spot on his body its just the one at the moment but i thought it might be the start of ick hes currently on his own with a school of danios and 2 plattys i only bought him last weekend and my plan was to take him back to the store as i discovered they shouldnt be kept alone and my tank is way too small for him in the long run but unsure what to do now really ,do i treat the entire tank and then return him or quarentine and treat him ? Im preety new to this and im not even completley sure it is ick to be honest could it be something else do you think ?

Also any suggestions which treatment to use as i have read they are sensitive to some ?

Thanks in advance :)

I think I have the same problem at them min but min have a few more than just one

Did it start with just one and then progress to more ? Are you going to treat as if it were ick ?

return it to the shop, they have quarantine tanks and usually their water is treated with a chlorine based med anyway.

I don't know just looked last night an seen about 7 white spots on each of my clowns going to get some treatment later on or tomorrow

Waterlife Protozin worked for me, combined with an increase temp to 30 degrees for a week, prior to treating.

i got 120ml off ebay for £5.20 with free p&p

seller was maidstone aquatics

Had a look this morning and he hasnt got any more spots the shop said it sounds like a burn from the heater but to put crushed garlic in the tank as that can treat white spot too might just do that to be on the safe side . I gave bought a heater with a protective cover for my new tank so hopefully we wont have that problem in the future

Oh right :S people in shops should really be educated before advising people grrr ok so i will start treating anyway think that is my best bet thanks

If you got a camera, you can always put a picture up here, lots more eyes will give you a more accurate answer.
