Clown Loach And Electric Ram Problems

thing is im cycling a 300litre atm which was the plan for the loaches and eels to be moved to this bigger one...i believed the smaller tanks would be ok for a period of time whilst they were small

chocolate gouramis have been in the tank about 2 months now i initially lost 2 of them however they seem to be fine no symptoms of any kind

worried about the rams though

and as for water changes i will begin doing them once a day/every other day to eliminate the ammonia/nitrites i did have a problem with a few plants degrading recently and they have since been removed

300 litres isn't enough for a fire eel and 6 clown loaches. For those you would need 650+ litre
Fire eels grow to 39 inches

ive had my current eel for 7 months and he hasnt grown much, i can only put this down to the tank size he is fed often and ive seen eels thrive in much less, 650l does seem a bit much.

same with clown loaches...i agree my 90 is way too small now but i cannot count the amount of pictures ive seen on this forum of 20+ cl's in a few hundred litres if they grow to their full extent i will either buy a new tank or rehome.

buying a 650l tank for juvenile loaches seems stupid when it will take them an extremely long time to grow that big

650+ litre tanks would be OK for the Clown Loaches and fire eel if you plan to keep them long term

something i will address in the future thanks though

back to my original querie does anyone have any ideas on the rams sunken bellies?

You are seriously over stocked! Also you come on this forum for advice! You are not taking any of the advice which will help you resolve these problems in the long run. You will soon find people not helping you if you carry on with the attitude you are!

i have and am taking the advice....my clowns are in the process of being rehomed...being given advice i fullly appreciate but someone telling me thats i am not taking the advice is a bit silly seeing how everything i have been reccommended to do i have started doing. if you dont have anything that can directly help me dont comment on my attitude on someone that has told me to buy a 650 litre tank for 6 clown loaches that are currently under 2 inches long.

to everyone that has helped me thankyou the pea advice was good, i am rehoming the loaches in replace i may get some tetras and i am setting up a hospital tank for my rams so they can get the attention they deserve.

hi again :) rehomed the eel and the loaches as per reccomendation large water change to battle any raised ammonia and nitrite spikes complete clean
new diet for rish remaining in there of green veg live and frozen food and flakes on a more regular basis

but im still worried about the rams

im sorry about multiple posting about this subject however i am worried as i the ram may have callomous worms that have not started showing symptoms
any advice would be greatly apreciated

If the fish are not putting weight on I would worm your fish.

If you have rehomed the loaches try sera mematol.
