Hi im new to the forum and new to salt water fish tanks. Ive been wanting a salt water fish tank for some time now. My goal is to have at least one clown fish, a couple tank cleaners like hermit crabs or shrimps, live sand, soft coral and maybe some polyps. I was wondering would a 6 gallon eclipse be sufficient to hold all the livestock? Ive seen a 10 gallon fish tank that had the same but a couple more fishes. would a 6 gallon be enough for just one clown fish, live sand, and fake decorations?

thanks

you could get away with one small clown, but a 6 gallon would not hold the clown for its entire life. A 30 gal is the recommended size for a standard clownfish for its entire life. Personally I have kept a pair in a 12 gal NanoCube and could tell they didn't like being so cramped. Moved them to the 30 gal and they were much happier.

comes with all the lighting and the hood.

I'd avoid that tank tbh.

Not only is it going to be hard to get a decent flow, but the tank is taller than it needs to be making lighting an issue, especially as it looks to be aimed at tropical and probably little more than 1 T8 tube.

Much better to opt for a "normally" sized 20G or bigger IMO.

plus its harder to take pictures as you will get tons of blind spots

Not a good marine tank....start reading the FAQ's and tank selection section. SH
