hi, i have a 70g fw with 6 green tiger barbs, 5 bloodfin tetras, and a red tailed shark.

in the past 2 or 3 days ive noticed that the water is starting to get a little cloudy, and im not sure why. can someone help me with why its getting cloudy, and how i can clear it up? thanks for all the help :)

my parameters are:
ammonia: 0
nitrite: 0
ph: 7.6 (added some ph down)
nitrate: slightly more than 0ppm, but not .5ppm

uh i dont no if im right but, if they are anything like goldfish they are breeding, try looking for eggs in the tank if not i dont no sorry

Could be a bacterial bloom, in which case its nothing to worry about.

Could be from your substrate, what substrate do you use and how old is it?

CAn you post any pics?

i dont see any eggs, so i dont think its that.

the substrate is small stone/gravel, the biggest being about .5" diam. weve had it for many years, as it was my dads while he was using it.

im not sure if the picture worked.. its from my phone, so its not good quality. if you can see it, the water is kind of cloudy, but not extreme yet. thanks for the help guys
