cloudy water

:/

Overfeeding, bacteria bloom, how long has your water been cloudy?

Reducing feeding and over filtering is the easiest and least risky solution. It might not work but unless ya break the tank putting the additional filter on it I don't think you can do any damage this way. Tank size is the deciding factor on what to over filter it with. I use a Magnum 350 exterior canister filter w/ UV light to 'doctor' my water. It's a heck of a filter and a large investment just as a clean up tool. I use the one off my 125 Gal to do it with.

Also regular partial water changes are suggested. Get a bucket and a siphon powered gravel vacuum and clean your gravel while removing 20-33% of your tanks water. replace the water with clean water. Remember to balance temperatures and add something that can remove chlorine and any other chemicals they have added to your tap water. If possible it is best to store the water in an open container for 24-36 hours before adding it to the tank. This will naturally remove the before mentioned chemicals. be sure to balance temperatures of stored water before refilling your tank.
