Hi All

I have a 20 gallon tank that is always cloudy. We have tried the Aquaclear stuff, quarter water changes.. We just cannot get it clear.

Ammonia 0
Nirates 5
Nitrite 0
P.H. 6.8

The tank has been running for 5 years, so it's not a new tank problem.
Please help if you can.
Thanks

have u tried the tank clear tablets??? not sure what they are called but they turn ur water a lovley purple colur, their main job is clumping all the very fine particals together so that the filter can hold them....

have u cleaned ur filter? changed the fliter substrate?

Yeah, I tried the fizzy things last week. We have 2 filters running in the tank and we replace all the filter media once a month.

I put my fish in a completely clear tank, once, and is started getting cloudy overnight. Don't know what to do.

im puzzled... hopefully one of the other members might be able to help solve it... :D

also have u cleaned the inside of the glass???? not to sound daft but i thought mine was cloudy untill i cleaned the inside of my glass with a never used sponge turned out to be just some sort of algea... looks nice an clear now..

I've solved the problem! My father was talking to one of his friends the other day, and I found out what is wrong. Some debris can get under the gravel, which won't come out with vacumming. I took out all the gravel, and replaced it, and no problems since. :D
