I have cloudy water but don't want to use carbon because it takes out the fertilizer there is a synthetic product called puregen and it is like plastic beads but the gus said that it shouldn't remove fertilizer

Depends why the water is cloudy? If it is a bacteria bloom then it should clear on its own in a few days - if it is algae then it may need a different approach. Carbon may not clear cloudy water anyhow, and the Purigen (SeaChem product that I have seen good reviews for?) may not either. If it is cloudy with muck/dirt then a big pile of filter wool in the filter may help though this should settle on its own too unless the substrate is being disturbed all the time?

neither purigen or carbon will help as far as I, the best thing to do would do massive water changes until its clear, dilution is the cure to pollution after all.
