No,no,no! :D Please don't buy any more chemical products, it's money down the drain and would be better spent getting a bigger tank off eBay. You're trying to fix a bleeding wound by bandaging it rather than doing what you should be doing which is stitching the wound.

Thanks for all the help  :) , I'll keep up with the all the tank maintance for def and see if I can't work something out about getting a larger tank.
Again thank you very much, in furture when I buy fish I come here for advice and not leave it up to the retail stores.
Last question, what size tank would be resemble for three goldfish & a pleco?

The three Goldfish alone require at least a 150L tank to be happy and so that you don't have to change the water and clean every day. You need to be specific about the pleco you intend to have as their size varies enormously. If it's the Hong Kong pleco that you mentioned then they stay small and aren't too much of a bioload so the 150L should be adequate.

Are you washing your filter every 5 days with clean tap water? Because if you are you're not allowing it to build up its biological function. You shouldn't need to use ammonia stoppers if your filter is functioning properly. I haven't cleaned my filter and it's been running since last October. As long as the flow is good it doesn't need constant messing with. Good luck!

I clean the filter in the old tank water that I take out, but if it doesn't need to be cleaned on such a regular basis I'll drop it down to maybe once a month.

Yeah it is a Hong Kong pleco, so they don't grow more than 5cm in length. The one I have at the moment is about 4cm althogether. Okies, thanks for all the help; I've managed to work out where I can fit a bigger tank so I shall find one thats 150l or more and hopefully problem sovled. Thanks alot! :D

OK, let us know how it turns out.

If your filter has carbon and your not treating fish with any medicines then replace the carbon with filter wool, works a treat.

This solved my cloudiness within 3 days.

NOTE: In future if your fish become ill, and you need to treat them, you MUST put the carbon back where the filter wool is.

Just to let you know I've gotten a larger tank and moved my fish into it, they seem happier although they are still settling in so they're hiding alot at the moment. So far so good, no issues with the water becoming clouding will keep up with cleaning the gravel though. Thanks for all you help!
