I'm agreeing w/ Lynda on the algae bloom thing (algae could account for the slime too), but the 0 nitrates are definitely concerning. Kidjatt, did you by chance use tap water to clean your filter or filter pad?
thats for that info Lynda B. I see that H20 changes arent a good idea. I thought they would of been the thing to do in that situation, thanx for informing me.
hi i used a mini master kit to get the results, i will do it again today, i may have buggered something up.
The cloudyness has gone, i removed all the plants/rocks and ornaments and cleaned them. The tank cleaned its self, the fish seem active, although i see 1 dead neon tetra, the other 2 are no where to be seen.
I clean the filter sponge in the water that i remove from the tank, the bucket goes a very dark grey once im done.
Did the nitrate test, came back as 5 mg/l, apparently you have to wait 5 minutes for the result. The cloudeness has gone. Yaay clear water again, i have also added another filter to the opposite side of the tank, so hopefully the tank will be alot cleaner
