Do any of the other fish show signs of velvet?

My large tiger barb is still showing signs. He has worsened since I put the coppersafe in, the velvet grew and is very visible. His coloring is a lot better today though, velvet still noticeable. Another fish has signs as well that have worsened since medicating. Ive noticed some of my cories have been flashing here and there, nothing too bad though. Maybe its just taking its course? :/

Any signs of laboured breathing, darting, turning up side down.
Did you add the full dose?

I definitely did the full dose and removed my carbon, it's still out. My angels aren't showing any signs of breathing difficulties, but my smaller one is down towards the bottom a lot more than usual, but that could be b.c my algae eater is driving her crazy lol ... still no patches of white on them though, so I'm hoping that's a could sign.

Update: Oh no!! My smaller angel is def. having trouble swimming, shes kind of floating around and very clamped in the fins. The air bubbles in the tank are sticking to her, I've never seen that before. She's not turning upside though, she's hanging in there. I'm hoping when I turn the lights off my mean angel doesn't pick her apart.... :/

Hoping she makes it through the night :-(

Dilute the medication down with a immediate water change.
You should of only half dosed the tank with having sensitive fish.

We also need to look at your water stats. As medications can sometimes cause ammonia, nitrite, to raise.

How the angel fish doing?

I didn't realize my fish were sensitive. I've had to use strong meds before and my angels were fine.

Update:My small angel didn't make it :-( When i checked the tank this morning, she wasn't swimming and her side fins were barely moving. It was pretty horrible to watch.

As I read your last post, I went to check my ammonia and found my large angel dead. Its very weird bc there were no white patches on either, and no trailing slime but definitely extra slime on entire body. her dorsal was very clamped... when i went to flush her, she dropped to the bottom of the toilet so fast, like she weighed so much. maybe the extra slime?? sigh.... this is very depressing...

Tank updates: my ammonia is great, but i did do a PH test, which has never ever been an issue for me, and it is 7.6 if not a bit higher. Im thinking this is pretty bad? but again Im not a ph expert, I always have my lfs do the ph testing for me, its actually the first ph test I've done at home. I'm assuming the copper raised the ph?

Thanks for all the help Wilder

Bless Her. :rip:

Can you please test your tap water in PH.

Are any other fish now showing any other symptoms like heavy breathing, darting.

My large tiger barb is still showing white patches, but they are no longer fluffy. His behavior is more on the normal side since yesterday but no labored breathing. there doesnt seem to be any darting around, my pictus is always kind of zoomy though.

well, holy moly, the tap water reads the same.... I have city tap. so does this mean my ph has always been high? Ive had my water tested regularly at my lfs though, and they use liquid testing not strips. hmmm...

Do you suggest a water change? I picked up some Pimafix today, it's all natural so do you think i should do a round of that as well?

Did your fish ever show signs of a gold dusting.

PH is fine as long as the tank same as tap PH. You could always add bogwood, or peat to your filter. But you won't be able to preform really big water changes,

Greyish white patches,
Excess slime.
Fluffy cotton wool on fish body, fins
Can be symptoms of columnaris.

I would of expected to see flicking and rubbing with parasites.
If the fish had a gold dusting on there bodies that is a sign of velvet.

Signs of velvet are
Yellow spots, golden yellow spots.
Looks like the fish has been sprinkled in gold dust.
Rusty colour varnish on fish body,
Brown velvet on fish body.
Also fish can look like there been dusted in talc.

geeze..... I looked up columnaris, and there are matching symptoms, but i thought there was with velvet too. It says to treat with a copper sulfate, which i did. Its been almost two weeks since i treated, so i think Im going to do a water change, then start treating with the Pimafix, which says it will cute mouth fungus and others as well, since it is all natural. Im certainly not going to add more copper treatments. What exactly does bogwood do for a tank? Again, thanks for all the help and advice, it is highly appreciated :)

Bogwood it a good way to lower your PH.
When I kept fish I didn't bother messing around with PH as mine was around 7.6.
Same as tap PH.

I think I would rather use myxazin by waterlife. I would remove the medication from the tank.
50% water change. Add some new black carbon to the tank. Run for 24 hours.
Before you start another medication I would do a gravel vac, and water change.
Remove black carbon from filter. Add medication.

Just need to ask again. Did any of your fish have a gold dusting on there bodies.
As I think in a earlier reply you said the fish did have a gold dusting on there bodies.

I think my barbs showed the gold dusting, they were def. more iridescent, but their bodies are gold, so it's hard to tell. It's hard to be completely positive but I'm pretty sure they did.

The only part of velvet symptoms Im not sure about is the yellow/brownish puffs, my fish had white patches. They were def. white, but everything else matches up.
