I almost had one of those moments last night that we all dread my heater packed up fortunately i have a aqua minder digital thermometer which has a warning alarm if the temp gets to high or to low.

I dont know if its packed up because of the temp dropping and its having to do more work or just bad luck but having a look it seems steamed up !

I had a spare so i was not half an hour later new heater in its a tronic thing which i dont really like because of its size.

So i would have to say to anyone get a thermometer with an alarm and a spare heater just in case.

Good advice adam - i had this happen to me recently on my marine tank but noticed pretty quickly luckily. Have just spent £80 on wireless digital thermometer's for all 4 tanks....just in case.

Its one of those things that always happens to someone else.

First thing i did on the way home today is buy 2 spare heaters (and a new fry tank )
