I recommissioned my old UnderGravel filter today in my freshwater tropical tank, and now I have a big ugly tube sticking up out of the gravel, which detracts from the tank's looks

Are there any underwater climbing plants that I can put in the tank at the base of the tube which will grow up and around the tube, covering it in greenery and making it look better?

If you mean plants that will cling and climb, like ivy does outside, then I don't know of any (but that's not saying much :)).

However, there are plenty of plants you could put in front of the tube that will grow tall and mostly, if not completely, cover the tube. For instance, any of the 'vals'.
