Clear lid cover for tank?

I have the Top Fin 3.5 gallon halfmoon tank that everyone and their mother has or had at one point. The light on it is going out and I’m wanting to attach a new clip on or magnetic light, but the lid is black. So I’m wondering how I would go about trying to make one or if there is one available? In the picture you can see the red area is caused by one of the lights doing something weird.

Use acrylic. Polycarbonate is too bendy and scratches easier.

Could I just use mesh? Like does is matter as long as my betta can’t jump out?
