All,
I was just thinking as I was trying to find a member in the list.
If i am right you had a massive crash some time ago.. I know this as all my posts from a long time ago is no longer there.
When i came back I had to change my email account and change all my details as my account was frozen and i couldnt use my old email address. as the database said it was being used by another member.
I see that we have 1750 pages of members.. Nice but how many are still active and howmany have re registered.
I was only able to get to my account as i remembered my password i used back then (well after a day of trying)
I tried to get my password from the system but it didnt work as it didnt send the password to my old email account.
So if i didnt remember my password my account would be dead now as i would have had to re register with a different name.
So is it possible to scavenge the records of the data base to clear out all members who have not come back since the big crash.
This will save room in the database and also it will close off a back door in the database.
I say this as I run 5 other database forums and one had a sinular crash and i found later that members that came back had different admin rights although they didnt have them before. This could have been from updating over a period of time the database got confused (poor migration) and usernames and admin rights were mixed up. As i say this was only with names from before the crash.
Also in the admin window you couldnt see that these people had admin rights so this is where the back door is.
