hi to all you peeps.

rite i'm kinda broke now so i can't spend mugh cash now. I jus wanted to know wot you can use to clean the outside front of ur tank. There's alot of mineral deposits on it and I thought of useing viniger but then that can be gd for the tank, can it?

anyways i need a solution for cleaning the following

algee on glass not the easy to clean stuff it's the kinda algee that likes whre it is and isn't gonna move.

limescale on front of glass (outside)

algee on rocks and wood.

algee on inside of an external filter.

thankx

i use a clean (new) toothbrush to clean the alge and rocks...i had an alge scraper but it was runnish and didnt clean properly

periodically, before i got my little plec, i had to take out teh wood and rocks and give tehm a quick blast with the pressuer washer. that worked a treat for getting the algea off

I don't know about where you live, but in the US, we get lots and lots of plastic cards in "pre-approved" credit card junk mail. They make pretty good scrapers for the glass and the price is right.

i soak mine then clean them with a toothbrush or a scouring pad
I'm going to assume you mean soak them in a solution because they would have been pretty well soaked already from being in your tank. What kind of solution do you use?

Toothbrushes and soft pads can simply rinsed off and dried, a solution is not necessary. By 'clean' I think he meant unused. I've always used windex (common glass cleaner) on the outside (sprayed onto the towel first, not near the tank).
