I had my CLs with Ich in a 10 litre hospital tank, while out at work the last one died - my husband dismantled the lot so as not to upset me when I came home -_- do I need to clean the tank out...perhaps with bleach before I use it again? or will the treatment have killed any bacteria etc - it managed to kill my Loach after all

I had a similar problem a while back.... I cleared the tank, boiled all the ornaments, blitzed the filter etc & put fresh sand in & re-cycled the tank. But then again i'm not sure it was only ich in my tank.... all my fish died a sad death in a short space of time, i know there was ich in the tank but i'm sure it was more than just that there!
I wish you all the best of luck though whatever you decide to do.

I use cooking salt and hot water and give it a a good clean. I use this when I am setting up any new aquarium... Then rinse out with fresh water.
Hope this helps.

I would use bleach in mixture of 1 part bleach to 20 parts water. Make sure you rinse it very well after you have finished cleaning it. You can also use ammonia and water in the same mixture as long as it is glass. Don't use ammonia on acrylic as it will dull the clearness. What ever you decide to clean with, DO NOT MIX BLEACH AND AMMONIA. They will create a deadly toxic gas.
