I recently (through some mean hardballing and bartering) got my parents a 55 gallon setup for 55 bucks. I need some advice on setting it up and cleaning it for them.
1) the tank has white buildup on the glass that is unattractive. I think it's lime scale. It's in the inside of the tank. How would you suggest I remove it?
2) the tank came with white gravel. I'm obviously gonna clean it, any tips?
3) the filters it came with are covered in the white stuff. Is cleaning the same? It also came with an undergravel filter with two power heads, is it worth keeping and running or should I try to sell it on?
4) the tank came with a light.. But no hood. What are some hood options?
