I picked up a used 55 Gallon aquarium this weekend! It seems to be in great shape, except it has algae on the seals between panels. What is the best way to clean it? its empty right now while I wait for the filter I ordered. Would it be best to try to clean it dry or put some water in it? I feel like water might soften up the algae. I've read using vinegar may help? what's everyone think? I'm kind of afraid of scrubbing to hard, I don't want to damage the seals

Vinegar would probably be the best choice.

You could try filling it with warm water, add vinegar like mentioned and use a bit of sea salt on a scrubbing sponge to gently scrub out the corners.
