is it ok to put african cichlids with an oscar? will they get on etc ? im thinking of making my 75g a cichlid tank so need to know. Also how many cichlids would you recommend for a tank of this size ?

The Oscar will eat them.

well, this tank looks massive so i wouldnt be happy stocking it with 3 fish, so forget the oscar - at the moment the tank has peak gravel and tuffa rock. Ive seen lots of different colour cichlids, electric purple, yellow / white etc so i wanted to mix these : also, will i need to make the water more hardy by adding coral to the filter ? if so where do i get small pieces of coral ?

also 2foot is way too big, i think a couple of inches would be great for a tank of this size

yeh i think thats the tank i want, yellow morph etc. Which cichlids should i avoid? size wise? cheers + how many mbuna cichlids could i keep in a tank this size

i'd say about 20ish depending on the type you keep and what filtration you have etc...

post in african cichlids. lots of useful advice will be given to you in there.

actually the oscar will get killed by them, africans are very aggressive, oscars are not. they are only semi aggressive.

It depends on your water parameters, but this is usually not necessary. Mbuna are very versatile, and unless your water is acid they'll do fine in what you provide.
