I'm looking to get some feature fish for the 33 gallon tank I have. After I get rid of the Tiger Barbs in this tank, I will have the following fish:
3 Danios, 1 White Cloud, 1 Cherry Barb, 1 Gold Barb

I'm thinking of getting a shoal of about 6 black neon tetras and another shoal of 6 neon tetras so that the tank gets a bit more full. I'd then like to get some cichlids that would be compatible with this set up. I basically want to have something that is more of a feature fish as this tank appears a bit empty with all of the 1-2" fish in it.

Hi,

I think that all the fish you have are schooling fish :S maybe get more danios and white clouds and take back the barbs (i mite be talking crap tho). For a nice cichlid why not go for the peaceful dwarf kinds?

Well Good luck anyways, hope it all goes well.

I'll second this. The White Clouds are also schooling fish. If you keep them, and get cichlids, check the preferred temperature before you buy a cichlid, as WCMs like it quite cool (18-22 C), and many cichlids want warmer temperatures.

Yep, not crap, though the barbs are probably more compatible, temperature wise to cichlids; wcm and danios are cooler water fish. Choose which fish you like best and add a few more.

i personaly would just increase the size of all the school ing fish you already have to atleast 6 and just keep it that way.....no other fish. or get rid of the danios and wcmm and increase the schools of the barbs to 5-7 for each type and a pair of rams. either way the fish you have are schooling fish and should be in a group of atleast 5 for each spieces.

Thanks for the input all. I've got some good ideas of what I'm going to do with the tank. I'll have to snap some pics of the tank with its new inhabitants.
