Cichlid That Sits On A Leaf

Hello.

Strange behaviour for a healthy, happy cichlid. He sleeps on top of a leaf when the light is off. When I switch the light on I have about 30 seconds until he wakes up and swims with the rest of his friends. Has anyone seen this behaviour?

i have multiple fish that find a resting spot.  My jack dempsey lays on the bottom of his cave.

agreed. My Laetacara Curvicep cichlid sits on the sand, on decor, on leaves - where ever he finds comfy and safe to rest up. Not worried about him

I used to have a betta that loved sleeping in the floating plants at night. The more cover they provided the more he loved it.

I can second this, my betta always goes to lay his plant when the lights go out. Who likes to fall asleep standing up.

You could add some of these silk plants to your tank, Im sure your fish will love them.
