Cichlid Tank?

Im currently cycling my 55g tank i would really like to put cichlids into it as i really like there bright colours they look great. The thing is i also have an angel fish which will go into the tank and a common plec. Is there any type of cichlid i could put into the tanks with them if so what types thanks alot.

If there is a possibility of you breeding fish (i.e. if you have a 20 gallon to move the fish to or a 10 gallon to move the eggs to), why not add more angelfish. This, however, would require research on your part, and lfs that would be willing to let you return angelfish that don't pair off (since you will have to get at least 6 in hopes of getting one male and one female, at least, that'll form a bond pair).

Can't really say I know much about other cichlids, though, so my "help" ends here.
