hi i have just bought a juwel trigon 350 its a 350L 77G tanks.

I want it to be a cichlid tank as i like many of the cichlids but for obvious reasons cant have them in my community tank.

I do like parrots and i do have a very young angel in my comm tank that when bigger i would move over.

Does anyone have any ideas for me of what i could put in my new tank i would like a variation of different types and if anything else would go in with them.

Also could i home my pleco once he is bigger in there he is only currently 4".

I've noticed you've posted in both sections and don't really have any ideas yet. Do some searching and read a bit on the various types of cichlids - they can differ to amazing degrees. It sounds like you want a multi-cichlid tank with variety and there is no doubt that Malawi is best for this since they thrive under these conditions. Most New Worlds are at their best as pairs and with enough territory to have a bit of room to live, usually just one or two pairs in a tank this size unless they're dwarf species. If you really want those parrots then New Worlds are certainly the place to search since these fish are made from some of those.

If you decide on Malawi's just say the word and we start looking at some good species to make an active yet compatible long term tank.

sounds like malawi should be for me would my angel be ok in with them wat about a pleco?

generally speaking, its not recommended to mix parrots and rift lake cichlids because they have very different water needs.

It's not so much the water needs as parrots are completely aquarium derived fish, but the frantic environment of the usual malawi tanks makes it a less then ideal tank for most cichlids - best to either go with Malawi or new world and not both.
