Cichlid Sand

I have decided for my new tank i will have sand substrate. This will be my first time not using gravel. What are some things that ishould know. Also type of sand?.My familys buisness can directly order in Silurian Pool Filter Sand for a very cheap price. Is this sand good? ive read pool filter sand can be used. Any other recommended types?

I recently set up my first sand bottom aquarium. I used pool filter sand (not sure of the brand) that I got from my local pool supply place for $5. I have three ciclids (2 geos) and eight cories and they all seem to be doing fine with it. It looks nice and is easy to clean, also. It doesn't cloud the water AT ALL!
