cichlid question

are they are ciclids that can be housed with other fish? I'm just really starting to research them as I have always wanted to get them. And what are the smaller breeds? Any help with these questions would be greatly appreciated.

What size tank do you have? Also, what is your water parameter out of your tap water? Depending on this, your stock possibility will vary significantly.

Worlds are a better choice then Africans if you want to house them with non-cichlid tankmates.

Dwarfs are what you want. Try for Flag cichlids, kribs, keyholes. If you get into the rams, apistos expect more water changing- sensitive fishys.
