I'm keeping my 10 gallon, but i'm saving to get a 29 gallon for a Cichlid Community.I was wondering, can Old and New World Chichlids live together or is it Impossible?

They are not usually compatable because the one group is more aggressive then the others and will kill them. I would post this over in one of the Chichlid sections as they could give you a lot more answers.

Mixing old and new world cichlids isn't a good idea, they'll have different dietary and water requirements, and aggression levels. 29gal isn't large enough to give you alot of selection, but there are some cichlids that can be kept in a smaller tank. Here's a couple of links to give you ideas.

I am actually trying to do the same thing right now. I have a 50 gallon that I am making into a Cichlid community with Apistos and Rams. Someone I know actually got a Kribensis (African Cichlid) and it ate her guppies tales so she gave it to me. I don't think I will be keeping the Krib because she is MUCH more aggressive than the South American Rams. Plus they like different water as said previously.

I think I am going with Cockatoo Cichlids, German Rams, and any Apistos I can find around here. Let me know what you decide to go with.
