Christmas Moss Lookalike?

I was walking around our local lake earlier in the week and found some moss stuck to a stone in the water, it looks exactly the same as xmas moss. I took it home and now have it in a 10lt tank on its own. I can't get pics up but it looks exactly the same as xmas moss. I was thinking of putting this in my tank and wondering what everyone thought. How long should I soak it before putting it in with the fish or should I just dump it?

i'd just throw it in after a wash and see what happens. I doubt it'll do well, most of our native moss's tend to turn to mush submerged. Just chuck a little in to start of with.

I didn't want just dump it in, its been in the 10l for 3 days and its still looking in good shape.

I wish I knew how to post pics, everytime I try it says the image size is to big.

Its been in the 10lt for 4 days and its still green and in good shape. Gonna stick it in today.
