Favourite pic of the tank yet.

Your thoughts guys before i start thinking about moving them across to the new setup...

1st pic are button corals in the genus Protopalythoa or Zoanthus.

2nd pic, far left looks like a Sinularia or Cladiella sp. Middle and right corals look like leather corals (Sarcophyton sp).

3rd pic is coral morphs on the left (probably in the genus Actinodiscus). And button corals on the right.

4th pic is of Zoanthus polyps, small button corals and a couple of brown coral morphs on the right and front.

5th pic could be anything but is possibly a small yellow Dendronephthya or another Sinularia or soft coral similar to that.

6th pic, middle coral looks like a Protopalythoa, a type of zoanthid, and more button corals on the right.

They all look pretty good and you should be able to move them straight across once the new tank has cycled. Try to keep them at a similar height in the new tank so they don't suddenly get more or less light. Many of them also release chemicals for defence and you should run carbon in the filter for a few months while they settle down.

Thank you ever so much Colin,

i had a strong feeling they were most related as softies and zoo's.

You are a real star and i thank you. For sure i am going to try and keep them at the same height as they are now, although i am upgrading to Halides on timers, which should help them along too.

Thank you again though, honestly.

Chris

Be careful if you are upgrading to halides because the corals can get sunburnt and bleach if they are suddenly exposed to more intense light. Have the halides high up to start with and lower them a bit each week. If you can try to increase the light on the current tank so the corals get use to more light.

Thanks again mate, that is exactly what i was going to do too.

Take it Perth is treating well this weekend ?

Yeah it's pretty good here now but it is currently raining and has been for the last few days.. It's good tho because it is raining at night and early in the day, then becoming fine in the afternoon (when I walk the dogs). And the really good part about the rain is I don't have to water the garden :)

Hehehe top man,

its getting quite chilly here now, almost 1 - 2 degrees and a threat of snow on its way.

Just brings me back to the superb time i had when travelling around Aus. Did the East Coast in the main and across to Uluru for 3 days, awesome... Most favourite part of the trip, was Port Douglas, somewhere i would love to settle down in.

Just had a good long look through the corals in the tank, identifying them and making notes :)

Thanks again for your support Colin.

Cheers Chris

Cheers Paul,

its taken quite a bit of time and alot of asking silly questions, especially to Skifletch, my online guru, along with Colin too.

Without people like them, i would have packed it in ages ago..
