okay 1 of my red and blue colombian tetras was choacking on a pea. i feed my fish the pea because of one of my platys has consterpaton, i thought i cut the pea up enough but when i noticed about 2 minites after the platy was swiming around again, the tetras mouth had a bulge on the bottom side of it, he couldn't shut it and there was a quater pea chunk loadged in his mouth, the frustrating thing is is that every time he spat it out he re-ate it getting it stuck again, his gills started to go dark red and he became less active untill he spat it out and i burryed that pea (didnt have time to grab it) well now he has normal gill colour gills and hes looking okay, hes been okay for the 20 mins he not been choaking and i was wondering if he should be okay, he realy active and the ordeal only lasted about 3mins. theres nothing in his or any other fishes mouths and i now know to cut the pea into like 10 peaces each pea.
im preaty sure hell be okay as he never stoped moving or breathing through the sides of the pea, but the breathing was realy realy fast, its now normal but im scared hell still die of oxgen "loss" in his blood, i highly dbout this though as hes active and playing around. and btw his mouth is fine, opening and closing smothly and its allways open and the bulge hasnt hurt it in anyway.
i gave the tank 1ml of stress coat and stress zyme to help calm and aid any dammage done in the choaking, and to help the filter bacteria remove any waste made by the pea, ill remove it tomorow when its reduced in stze.
folow ups welcome
