Yesterday I was looking at my five gallon and saw my CAE swimming in vertical circles at the back of the tank. He did this for a few minutes, and then I left. When I returned half an hour later, he was still at it.

Is this strange? Is it b/c he's cramped?

He is cramped in a 5 gallon tank but i dont think that he is doing that because of it. He's just having fun. I had a CAE in my 55 a while ago and he would swim around the air bubbles for hours. I got dizzy just looking at it. They are VERY energetic fish..

He's still around 3", should I move him into the 50 once it's cycled? I put my pleco in and he's fine. If I do this, I need some sort of algae eater b/c there is a little bit of algae on the glass.

Mine does that ALL the time. They're very playful so they see their reflection and think "Another fish, lets play!" basicly he thinks his reflection is another CAE that he can't get to and thats fustrating him. It's nothing to worry about. :D
