We had roast chicken takeout for tea tonight and as normal for this type of thing the kids were allowed to sit in front of the TV, I finished quickly as I had alot to do. I ignored the kids allowing the wife to keep an eye on them, anyways my oldest boy (just turned 4) puts his plate on the dining room with his chicken bones, the next I see him he's comming out of our bedroom where I keep my 3'tank, I think nothing of it till much later... After the kids go to bed I get a tin of fish food (kept in the main bedroom) for the two tanks we have in the study when I spot a chunky white thing sitting on the bottom of the 3 footer, so of courseI immedietly think one of my fish has been had, I look to see who it could be, ie who is big enough and missing, nope all their, hmmm what the hey's goin on, I have a closer look, and think that it looks more like a knuckle bone than a fish carcuss, then it clicks its the bit of knuckle shaped gristle on the end of a chicken drumstick from my boy being in their earlier and the fish are loving it (angels, b-rams, swordies are taking turns ripping at chunks), I just cracked up laughing  at the cuteness of it all

roast chicken take out? we dont get that in england
You're not in England, you're in Wales!

There's a place here called 'Dial A Dinner' that delivers pretty much anything, including roast dinners (chicken, beef or pork)

Getting back on subject, the chicken shouldn't do any harm as a very occasional treat as long as the uneaten portion is removed before it spoils.

Fish sometimes have trouble digesting meat from enothermic creatures (mammals & birds) but the fact that it's well cooked will help digestion.

Pretty much any good grocery store here in the US has a rotossiere chicken that you can pick up for about $5.

This post is just one more reason why I'm glad I don't have kids yet. :D

Actually it is suggested you do feed carivors such as Cichlids some meat in their diet, a sliver of red red raw meat, but i would count you lucky stars here, because with white meat, it has to been cooked before being fed to fish, but otherwise fish love meat, you little boy is very smart, because i didnt discover about feeding fish meat until a few months ago when reading one of the books i have on torpical fish keeping
