Anyone ever heard of them? Can't seem to find any information anywhere.

My lfs has a tank full of these. Not entirely sure they have the name right though. They are silver with red tipped fins/tail. They must be relatively common fish due to the price (90p each) and are smaller than the galaxy rasboras.

On the subject of rasbora, I'm thinking of dedicating a tank to them. A full mix of rasbora. This lfs seems to have quite a few different ones ranging from the galaxy to the harlequin and also those absolutely tiny rasbora (I think they are actually the worlds smallest freshwater fish?) that are practically see through. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I'm thinking they may be young Rasbora kalachroma Clown rasboras
or one of the Boraras species; either micros or merah

Looking at the small amount of pictures I can see, they aren't Clown Rasbora. Doesn't look like either of the 2 others you mentioned either, although they are similar.

I'd take a picture but they are still a bit timid and hide whenever there's movement near the tank. And I'm also rubbish with a camera. :D

I'm going back to my lfs tomorrow and will have a look at the tank to see if there is a scientific name. Thanks for your help btw.

Rasbora Rubrodorsalis. That's what they are.

Can find information on them from a couple of websites but as yet I can't find a common name, so not sure where my lfs got that name.

I have recently bought some Rasbora dorsiocellata which are great little fish. They are full of energy and always whizzing around the tank, and their eyes are a nice shiny blue. Cheap as chips and well recommended if you can find some.

Dave.
