Cherry Shrimp

Thank you for the reassurance :)

I did see a shrimp yesterday, he/she'd climbed all the way up an amazon sword leaf :p I didn't know they could climb that well!

My gravel was labelled "natural lake side" or something like that so it's lots of different shade of brown and has some red in it! :/

They don't only climb they jump too! mine almost escaped today will i has bagging her for a move. was a tricking situation.

They jump?! Oh dear, they could climb a plant that's near the pretty large hole in my lid -_-

I suppose this is my punishment for not doing enough research first :(

They might still be okay, my tank has many wires coming up the side and is an open top tank. I think it more depends on the shrimps personality.

i read somewhere that they actually climb microscopic algae etc that is clinging to things, so i suppose it may also depend on some factors of the tank setup and chemistry as well

I put 3 ghost shrimp in with my betta, the first hour he chased them around, then the next day or 2 he stayed away from them. about 2 weeks later i was feeding and one of the shrimp swam up and latched onto my bettas fin. about an hour later i looked over to see a shrimp hanging out of my bettas mouth. he ate it while the other 2 watched lol. he left the other 2 alone for a month or so then one day i seen him chasing 1 of them around, it was odd because he just chased the one and didn't chase the other one. after about 30 mins of this he caught the shrimp and ate it also. now about 8 months from the time i put in the shrimp the last one is still alive and getting along with my betta. The only time my betta messes with the shrimp is when i feed and a pellet sinks. the shrimp will grab it and run, then my betta will chase him until he drops the food. once the shrimp drops the food my betta leaves it alone again lol. Its pretty funny to watch.

this betta is pretty aggressive though. he has also ate 2 snails, and i tried 2 glo tetras but he chased them nonstop from the moment i put them in his tank.
