Depending on when the eggs dropped to her saddle, you could be waiting for up to 4 weeks before the shrimplets are born. Cherry shrimp are the hardiest of the dwarf shrimp and as long as they don't get exposed to any ammonia or nitrites, they will be fine. I would be very careful about wanting to feed this one shrimp. In fact, I wouldn't feed her any more than twice per week as you really run the risk of polluting the water. Another scenario you can consider is this: get a large pail or bucket, put in an airstone, fill with moss and hornwort and put her in there. I'm assuming the reason you want to float the bucket is because you want to maintain the temperature? This is not needed for cherry shrimp. They can be at room temperature with slow temp fluctuations with not a problem. Unless your house gets really hot or really cold it will be fine. My one shrimp tank has no heater at all and the shrimp breed like crazy. Another option is to get a fine mesh breeding trap. The mesh has to be very fine though or the shrimplets will escape.
To me personally, this is all too much work to go through. Cherry shrimp breed like crazy and so soon enough the populations will grow, even with your Betta.
