The water in my aquarium is really really cloudy, so I went out and bought an aquaclear activated carbon pouch and retrofitted it to go in my eheim 2217 (I put the pouch on top of the bio substrate, but underneath the filter floss) I woke up this morning expecting to see a crystal clear tank, and though it was less cloudy than yesterday (I cleaned the gravel yesderday, so thats to be expected), The water is still stained looking. How long does it take for the carbon to start working and when can I expect to see results? Will the water be crystal clear like the package claims? THanks

What color is your cloudy water. You also stained in your post that the water appeared stain which can be cause by adding drift wood to your tank in this case the wood is simply leaching out and it maybe a while. However if your tank is simply cloudly and kinda white then it's a bateria bloom which I usually get every time I change the media in any of my filters. Add carbon may help but do a 10% water change every night and it should be over it 3 or 4 days.

the water looks greeniesh brown and yes, I have driftwood, but its been there for over 6 months...ive already done several water changes with no effect tho
