Hi All,
After leaving my parent in charge of the fish tank whilst on holiday, I have returned to a sick cherry barb.
Symptoms are:
- cannot maintain balance
- swims on its side
- appears to do 'loops' when swimming
Current condition:
- currently just breathing in one of my plants
- came out for food yesterday, not today.
What I have tried:
- feeding frozen pea (won't come out to eat it)
- salt bath but couldn't catch the fish due to hiding places and didn't want to stress it too much
- EDIT: just tried feeding pea by hand but it just swims off and back into the plant. been at it for ages now
- daily water changes
Strip tests show water is OK and all other fish are OK, currently no ammonia reading due to lack of measuring equipment.
I know strip tests are poor btw, but only option ATM.
How can I save it? Swim bladder disease treatment, or is it too late for that?
Tried adding pictures but cannot meet 100k limit, even with compression.
Any help is appreciated
The fish can just be spotted in the plant in the first image, the second is just for represenation of the tank
