I've been after these a while and someone said they were in BAS in Bolton. Fortunately I was in Salford and popped in and got four, they are gorgeous and I can't wait for them to grow up in beautiful Channa

has anyone kept these before who can share their experiences

keep an eye on them as once they mature 4 in one tank doesnt work, you will need to watch for the pairing up, once you get a true pair remove the others, or the pair will remove them for you :)

will do cheers pal, I'm waiting for that day on my Pulchra cos got 6 of those and they are growing super fast!!

Pulchra are lovely Channa, i had an oppertunity on some, but didn't take it. now ive cut rite back on my fish and move to reptiles :)

Congrats dude, excellent buy, these grow to be a stunning fish, Darkentity is correct, how big is the tank that they in? if it is 48" you will probably get away with keeping 4 together even if 2 pair up and breed, as long as the other ones have plenty of hiding places, they will still get a good kickin though so normally as stated you would want to remove the others to another tank.

Good luck with these, I think you will really enjoy them :)

I have 4 pulchra also and mine vary from 8-11" and have just got prettier and prettier, mine have the occasional squabble, but as they have a big enough tank and cover nothing really bad comes of it.

Cheers, Karl

Hi Karl

There in a 48 at the min with the pulchra but I've set a 36 x 15 x 12 for the bleheri just waiting for it to ready. I've got fish at the min with no definate homes either growing on for the bigger tank or wwaiting for another tank. I'm thinking of moving the Pulchra to my 150g tank when they get bigger or might see if they pair off and whether a pair would stay in the 48 inch tank. I'll play it by ear!!!

Now they are settling in the Bleheri are looking better they were really skinny but are eating well enough

The Pulchra are the fastest growing fish I have ever had, the growth on them is unbelievable!!
