Hi I am changing my marina style 60l tank to tropical as I currently have 4 shubunkins in it and no live plants I have a fake one & some rocks and a cave statue thing and a boat, my filter is a marina s15 and the tank has been set up for over a month now and the shubunkins are still alive and going in to a pond soon, so I was wondering as I only want neon tetras in the tank as to wether I need any specific stuff to keep them our would my current set up be fine and how many neon tetras could I safely house in my tank? as am gonna have the temprature at 24 degrees celcius. thanks

All sounds good to me, just chuck in a heater, set it to the temp and wait for it to become stable.
-------Considering that----------
You cycled the tank???:good:
Not sure if its cycled its been set up for over a month with 4 fish in an they seem fine but when I take the the shubunkins to there new home its an aquatic centre with a big pond for rehoming fish so I'll ask them to test my water and i'll buy a test kit. also how many tetras do you think I could have in the 60l tank?

well if it is just tetras than around 14 correct me if i am wrong you just don't want to overcrowd it and so 14 if 15 thats your maximum. try not to go over 15 or its overstocked.

I'll just get 6 to start with and see how they go then in a few weeks get another 6 so there is 12 in total and leave it at that so I have a nice shoal of tetras swimming around, thanks for advice

neons tend to do a lot better in established tanks, usually when they're 6 months or older, but you could always give it a shot. The tank is also on the small side, I'd try not to get much more than 8-10.
