Hi
I will be changing my tank this weekend from 90ltr to a 180ltr.Help required as follows
1,Will using some of the existing water assist the cycle.
2.I have 2 internal filters in my existing tank, the new one has external, could I use some of the media from the existing tank to help the cycle.
3.Have seen the mention of ceramic media (siporax)could I use this in the new filter and take out the existing medium.
4.I have 6 neons,4 dwarf corys,1 clown loach,1 died recently and 6 guppys what other fish would you suggest.I have been advised the the tank aint suitable for the clown loach.

Your filters are cycled of the number of fish you have, not the size of the tank. So, theoretically, as long as you transfer everything for the old tank to the new tank, you shouldn't need to cycle at all.

I wouldn't bother keeping the old water unless you are having trouble matching the temp and Ph with fresh water. You're old water has nothing in it worth saving. Move as much old filter media as possible to the new filter and if you have room, it can't hurt to add new ceramic media for future bacteria growth. I have no stocking advice other than what you already now know about the clown loaches.

Agreed, Bag the fish when you take them out of the 90l and acclimatise them as you would any new fish to their new home, no need to move the water. Plus being because you know what is in your 90l then you can let the water out of bag when you release them as you are happy that its safe and no disease.

If you move all the media from your internals to your external then in theory your tank will be cycled.
