Well, I've treated my 10g for four days now with the pima/melafix and haven't noticed any positive changes, so I'm ready to move onto the big guns.
Question is, should I do a water change before adding the Maracide (by Mardel, if anyone is curious)? Will the other meds react badly with maracide? I know pima/melafix are gentle meds, but I want to make sure I'm medicating properly.
I've searched around the internet and can't find any info on it...

what are you treating for?

Well, I wasn't sure exactly what it could be, so I've been trying just about everything.
It really must be a parasite though.
Here is a link to my original thread.

Water change first.
Good luck.

Changed the water, removed my frog, shrimp and snail and decided to start with a 1/2 dose of maracide to begin with. I don't want to shock the fish too much. I'll add the other 5ml after an hour or two.
*Fingers crossed*
God, I hope this works.

Signs of flukes are darting around, flickiing and rubbing, laboured breathing.
Going thin, swimming in a jerky movement, red inflamed gills.
Ulcers, streaks of red in the fins, spitting food out, trying to jump out of the tank.

Have seen the flicking, red gills, labored breathing, spitting out food. I can't imagine what else it could be.
Eastwood is having trouble swimming now (as you already know) and didn't eat this morning. I can only hope that this helps.
Thank you for your help Wilder, I appreciate it.

If there none of them signs then I would still go the bacterial route.
Good luck.

Wouldn't the pimafix and melafix have killed anything bacterial?
Although I've since realized that the filter did in fact have carbon in it. Wouldn't I have seen at least a little bit of an improvement?
On the topic of carbon, I have since removed the carbon from the filter, but the Maracin is sort of bubbling at the top. Is there a residual effect do you think? I may have missed some carbon, since it is a bag-type filter with loose carbon inside.

Have you increased aeration in the tank.
Do you mean maracyn.
