Changing Lighting

I have a mini bow 5 gallon (the ones you can get at Wal-Mart). I want to get rid of the bulb that came with it, and use a flourescent light instead. Is it alright to do this? I've seen a compact flourescent, and from what I read on the package, it sounds like it can replace an incandescent bulb. I just wanted to ask first before I shorted out the entire house, or melted a socket or something.

If its a standard incandescent socket you can put those twisty compact flourescents that are designed as replacements for incandescents in it. As a matter of fact, I'd reccomend it, save you lots of energy costs and make the tank look less yellow
