Hi

My JBL CO2 cannister has lasted a month... Doh! and it's time to refill it.

What's the story with disconnecting and replacing it ? It it just a case of unscrewing the regulator off the top of the cannister and taking it to the aquatic shop ? Do I have to be careful of loads of CO2 being dumped ?

Thanks

Hi,

I've just changed to pressuried CO2 having got a cheap kit off Ebay. The only place I have found that offers refills is maidenhead aquatics, use http://www.fishkeeper.co.uk/ to find you nearest store. Other than that I dont know. Ive tried phoning lots of welding places to see if they offer a refil service, but they normally only refill their own make of bottles. If you find a better and/or cheaper way of doing it please let me know!

I do know some people use the huge 3foot bottles that pubs use but dont know how they get those refiled.

Hope this helps

Sam

You can get almost any sized cannister filled at a welding supply store. I've heard some of them won't deal with the itty-bitty sizes (like the ones used in paintball). If you're in the states there's probably a store called AirGas near you (they have over 700 locations i believe) and I believe they will do any size cannister.
