Good morning all ,thank you for allowing me into your community , so I'm doing things a little differently ,I currently have 2 marine set ups but over the coming months I want to change one to a planted tropical ( not a full acuascape) but somewhere in between ,it's a large tank 6ft X2,6x2,6 I intend to keep the sump for all the ancilarerys but will have a good clear out and Clean before I start. Any tip and support will be much appreciated as it's been about 15 years since I kept tropicals and I assume things might have moved on a bit .

Hi and welcome to the forum

Things haven't changed much, lights are the main one. Some people are using LED lights instead of fluorescent or halides but you can use whatever you want. LED spotlights are cheaper to run than halides but you can use either. You will need spotlights for your tank due to the height.

Use lights with a 6500K (K is for Kelvin) rating.
