Centerpiece Fish

Congo Tetras...just beautiful fish. Elegant fins. Great swimmers. Gorgeous gold color with blue dorsal highlights. SH

I've got angels (3) and tiger barbs (5 stripey, 5 green), and pearl gouramis (2).

The gouramis were the first in the tank out of this lot. The tiger barbs we got all together and they were next. The angels are the most recent additions (if you call 5 months ago recent :# )

The only trouble we have is the angels constantly fighting amongst themselves - 3 is not a magic number!!

In my opinion, take a good long look at the behaviour of yoour barbs and gouramis at the moment. If they hassle any other fish at all in any way then they are going to be tempted by the flowing fins and slow movement of angels. If they are good well behaved fish then try it - my barbs showed a great deal of curiosity towards the angels in their first day in the tank but never anything more. My angels are hard as nails though and wouldn't put up with no messing anyway. :D

Maybe check with your LFS that they will have them back if they dont settle in. Worth a shot as angels certainly fill the middle space of a tank well.

Best of luck, keep us posted!

It eas a three spot gourami. My angelfish is a complete wimp though. It is scared of neon tetras and lets them take food that it was about to go for. I can never get to feed it worms cos the neons grab them first. Although it is the biggest, it is the shyest and most un boisterous fish in the tank. Is that such a rare thing?
